St. George’s Chapel at Long Cove is open for Sunday services at 10:00 a. m. from the last Sunday in June to the first Sunday in September. Visiting clergy celebrate either Communion or Morning Prayer, and the music varies from organ to harp to guitar to base and keyboard. Flowers are lovingly arranged by parishioners from local gardens, supplemented by “side-roadea.” As one of 18 summer chapels in the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, “the little brown church in the wildwood” will celebrate its 115th anniversary during the summer of 2016.
All visitors are welcome to attend services. The St. George Chapel at Long Cove is located on Long Cove Rd. off of Rt. 131, eight miles south of Thomaston and two miles north of Tenants Harbor.
